Superannuation

Superannuation Guarantee compliance is one of the vital components of business reporting due to the extensive penalties incurred for failure to lodge and pay on time. Pointons Chartered Accountants specialise in making sure superannuation obligations are taken care of for you to avoid any unwanted surprises at the end of the financial year.

ABN and GST registrations

Australian business number (ABN) is a unique 11 digit number that identifies your business to the government and community.

  • Identify your business to others when ordering and invoicing
  • Avoid pay as you go (PAYG) tax on payments you get
  • Claim goods and services tax (GST) credits
  • Claim energy grants credits
  • Get an Australian domain name

Goods and services tax (GST) is a broad-based tax of 10% on most goods, services and other items sold or consumed in Australia. You need to have an ABN to register GST, as the ABN is part of the GST system.

As we are a registered Tax agent, we provide a wide range of services which includes applying for your ABN, backdating the ABN, registering for GST. If your business is liable for GST you must register within 21 days of meeting the eligibility requirements.

Bookkeeping

Bookkeeping involves recording and classifying all the financial transactions in your accounting system. Whether you do the work yourself or hire someone to do it for you, without proper bookkeeping your accounts will not be accurate.
